Inclusion Scotland is calling on disabled people across Scotland to share their views on local council services through a new Council Election Priorities Survey.
Your voice on local council services
Local councils have a significant impact on many aspects of daily life, from housing and transport to social care support, education, leisure facilities and public spaces. With the next local council elections scheduled for 2027, Inclusion Scotland wants to ensure that the priorities of disabled people are heard clearly and directly.
Shaping the Manifesto for Inclusion
The feedback collected from the survey will inform Inclusion Scotland’s Manifesto for Inclusion, which will outline the changes disabled people want to see from local councils throughout Scotland. This manifesto will then be shared with council candidates ahead of the elections as part of efforts to influence local decision-making in a positive way.
“We cannot do this without your input,” Inclusion Scotland emphasises, inviting disabled people who care about accessible transport, housing, social care, education, employment, community facilities or any other local service issue to take part.
How your input makes a difference
Survey responses will help Inclusion Scotland to:
- Identify the issues disabled people want local councils to prioritise,
- Develop the Manifesto for Inclusion for the 2027 elections,
- Equip disabled voters with questions to ask candidates,
- Make a compelling case for change based on the lived experiences of disabled people.

Accessible formats and deadlines
The survey is available in alternative formats to ensure it is accessible to as many people as possible. These include an Easy Read version and a Plain text version.
Please note, the survey closes on 13 November 2026.
